Caroline is in Singapore at the moment checking out the market for our publications.  She has been delighted with the response and in discovering the influence of Australian chefs on the local food industry.  Many of the trendy cafes serving up great coffee have been set up by Australians and Australian chefs are very much part of the fine dining scene.

Many of you will recall that Margaret River was devastated with bushfires in December.  We were one of the lucky ones, thanks to the dedication of the fire fighters, the fire stopped about five hundred metres from where we live on the corner of Redgate Road and Caves Road.  There were many who were less fortunate than us.  

Congratulations to Anthony Janssen on his latest award, Pride of Workmanship awarded by Rotary Margaret River.  Another well deserved recognition for AJ.

The Inaugural Margaret River Short Story Writing Competition, a partnership between Arts Margaret River and Margaret River Press closed on December 30th.  We are pleased to announce that we received 184 short stories from all around Australia.  Its over to the judges now.
